Emulex Delivers 16Gb Fibre Channel Connectivity for EMC Storage Arrays |
The partnership between Emulex and EMC has accelerated and expanded the adoption of networked storage and extended the value of storage infrastructures. Emulex is the leading supplier of adapters for EMC customers. These proven adapters have been tested, qualified and approved for sales and support with leading EMC solutions and ensure interoperability with applications such as VMware,® EMC Control Center® and EMC PowerPath®. The adapters are listed on the EMC Support Matrix (ESM) and part of the EMC Select portfolio of complementary third-party products. The Emulex partnership enables EMC to provide customers with complete, end-to-end storage solutions.
Fibre Channel (FC) Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) and 10Gb Ethernet (10GbE) Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs)
Emulex's FC HBA solutions enable customers to easily and effectively connect to EMC storage arrays. Extensive testing within a broad range of environments as well as hardware and software platforms ensures Emulex FC HBAs provide the highest degree of performance, reliability and interoperability. EMC 16Gb FC (16GFC) HBAs now provide advanced connectivity for EMC storage arrays. Backward compatible with EMC-qualified 4GFC and 8GFC HBAs developed by Emulex, these new 16GFC HBAs offer the latest in performance and “green” features while ensuring investment protection.
EMC-qualified UCNAs developed by Emulex have a single-chip, high performance 10GbE architecture that provides server connectivity for network and storage traffic with multi-function server adapters and are qualified by EMC for use in Storage Area Networks (SANs) and network-attached storage (NAS) across the EMC® VNX™ family (including the entry-level VNXe™) and existing Connectrix,® EMC® CLARiiON,® EMC Celerra® and EMC Symmetrix® networked storage systems. UCNAs support Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), iSCSI and TCP/IP while leveraging mature management tools and processes. By consolidating traffic, the UCNA simplifies network management and significantly reduces total cost of ownership (TCO).
